Your Digital Shield: The Essentials
Cybersecurity doesn’t have to be expensive or complicated. In fact, most people can secure 99% of their digital life using just a few free, high-quality tools.
I’ve vetted these resources personally. If I don’t trust them with my own data, they don’t make it onto this list.
1. The "Am I Safe?" Check: Have I Been Pwned
What it is: A massive database that tracks every major data breach in the world.
The Human Take: Think of this as a background check for your email. If a site you used years ago got hacked, your password might be for sale on the dark web right now. Use this to find out. Check Your Email Here
2. The Memory Master: Bitwarden
What it is: A secure, open-source password manager.
The Human Take: Stop using your pet’s name or your birthday as a password. You only need to remember one "Master Password," and Bitwarden handles the rest, creating unhackable "walls" for every account you own.
3. The "No-Go" Rule: OTP Security
The Jordan Byte Rule: No bank, government official, or tech support agent will ever ask you for an OTP over the phone. The Human Take: If someone calls you and says they need a code to "fix your account," they are lying. Hang up immediately. Your best resource is your own intuition.
Why I share these:
New threats emerge every day, and I will update this list as I find better ways to protect you. My goal is to make sure your digital fortress stays strong.
